The awarded projects of aws Best of Biotech Early Track!

On Oct 19, 2022 the best submissions in the Early Track have been awarded by our jury. All submitted projects have been evaluted by our 13 experts from various areas like Science, Financing, Intellectual Property, Marketing and Industry. Only the best 3 submissions of the category Biotech/Pharma and the category Medtech, IVD and Digital Health were invited to pitch in front of our jury.

The prizes were sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim.

Winner Early Track - Category Biotech/Pharma: Martin Wikovitsch - Velaex Technologies

The focus of Velaex is to overcome the poor selectivity of conventional cancer chemotherapeutics by improving the specificity and thus safety of those drugs. By exploiting controllable, ultra-fast in vivo chemical reactions to precisely deliver and activate drugs only at the site of disease, Velaex Technologies will enable drug targeting strategies with unprecedented efficiency, selectivity, and safety, paving the way to novel high-precision therapeutics.

Winner Early Track - Category Medtech: Rafael Boog - LudwigMed

Ludwig Meds' technology makes it possible to adapt special music precisely to a person's vital signs. This provides a therapeutic effect that is potentially much stronger than incumbent solutions. Our first use case targets delirium, which is associated with substantially higher costs and worse outcomes and remains a huge unresolved pain point. We have entered into four clinical partnerships and have a second use case in the pipeline: chronic pain.
